St. Louis Cardinals Game In Milwaukee Postponed After Two Players Test Positive For COVID-19

The St. Louis Cardinals have been told to self-isolate in their hotel rooms in Milwaukee until further notice after two players tested positive for COVID-19.

The team released a statement saying the tests were conducted prior to Wednesday’s game against the Twins in Minneapolis.

Major League Baseball postponed Friday afternoon’s game against the Brewers at Miller Park and rescheduled it as part of a double header this Sunday.

The team is conducting rapid testing of the entire travelling squad.

Original Story: NEW YORK (AP) — According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Friday’s game between St. Louis and Milwaukee has been postponed after multiple Cardinals employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the postponement had not been announced.

Two other games scheduled for Friday involving the Marlins, Nationals, Blue Jays and Phillies had already been postponed because of an outbreak among Miami players and two positive tests on Philadelphia’s coaching staff.
