Five Charged After Branson Motel Bust; Court Documents Reveal New Information

Five men face felony charges after Police arrested six at a Branson motel a week ago.

Police responded to the motel at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, August 9th, backed by a SWAT team, which controlled the perimeter. Six were taken into custody, five were charged: Jason Wanagel, Michael Powell, Robert Clark, Cullin Styes and Dallas Kuhl.

Police say they found evidence of a counterfeiting operation, as well as various drugs and paraphernalia.

Reports say five $20 bills were in the toilet, in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence. Officers also mention finding a black tar-like substance.

Among those charged include the property manager for the Metropolitan Motel, Jason Wanagel.  Police say he would regularly admit people into the motel off the books, and they found $800 dollars in cash, drugs, and a stolen pistol at his residence.

Hearings are scheduled for later in the month

This is a part of a larger operation from Branson Police to make sure Branson motels are safer for guests.
