Impacts From Remnants Of Laura Expected To Be Minimal In The Ozarks

Widely scattered storms will continue across the Ozarks Thursday, with heavy rain, thunder and lightning possible.

The remnants of Hurricane Laura will push into the southern Ozarks from Arkansas by Thursday night into Friday.

The National Weather Service says some heavy rain will be possible south of I-44, but no wind impacts are expected and the risk for flooding is low.

Areas from Ava to Gainesville and West Plains could receive 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain, but less than a tenth of an inch is expected west of Highway 65.

Forecasters say a few strong to severe storms will be possible with a front moving through Saturday afternoon and evening.
