Greene County passed more than 5,000 cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday.
CoxHealth CEO Steve Edwards says the area has been averaging more than 100 cases a day over the past seven days.
On his Twitter page, Edwards says there’s still some uncertainty about how respiratory and flu cases could affect hospitals this fall and winter.
Greene County exceeded 5,000 total cases yesterday. Our new case rate is 37/100K per day. We’ve averaged 108 new cases/day for past 7 days. Springfield reached a new peak hospitalizations at 113 (Cox 72) We are climbing quite a hill, but we are prepared and our team is strong.
