Pandemic SNAP Benefits Maxed In October For Missourians

Missourians receiving Pandemic-SNAP benefits will see the max amount this month.

The Department of Social Services says they’ve got the approval from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service.

P-SNAP is part of the Families First Coronavirus Act, while lets the state maximize the Food Stamp/SNAP benefit amount for households during a state of emergency.

The Department of Social Services says due to the late day of the federal government’s approve of October’s P-SNAP, Missourians who received or will receive their normal October SNAP benefit before October 9, 2020 will get their additional P-SNAP benefit to max out their household’s benefit amount after that date.

In August, there were 372,464 households or 771,906 Missourians who received Food Stamp/SNAP benefits.

“October marks the eighth month of maximum SNAP benefits for Missourians,” said Jennifer Tidball, Acting Director, Department of Social Services. “We are grateful that Missouri can continue to provide this additional support during the ‘Show Me Strong’ Recovery Plan. However, SNAP recipients need to be aware and prepared for the eventual return of regular SNAP benefit amounts.”
