Mercy Hospital in Springfield used its mobile morgue on Sunday.
Mercy bought the refrigerated trailer after the Joplin tornado and rarely uses it.
But with COVID-19 cases and deaths on the rise, it had to be used briefly over the weekend.
Mercy says two bodies were stored there on Sunday until funeral homes could come and pick them up.
