A woman arrested this week after fleeing from Springfield Police in a stolen vehicle and hitting an officer has been charged.
Maggie Thrift is facing charges of armed criminal assault and resisting arrest while creating a risk of serious injury or death.
Officers approached Thrift at a Fast n Friendly on West Chestnut early Tuesday morning after identifying the car she was in as stolen.
Thrift then fled from police and when she hit one officer, cops fired shots at her and she was hit multiple times.
She was later found and taken into custody on Commercial Street.
The car was found Tuesday afternoon at Atlantic and Park.
