The Springfield Fire Department has identified a man who died after an apartment fire last week on East University Street.
Firefighters responded to the apartment around 6 a.m. on December 29, 2020 and removed Larry Woodcock from the residence and he was taken to a local hospital,
Woodcock died from his injuries on December 30.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
