Twenty two governors, including Governor Parson, have signed a joint statement opposing how federal funds will be allocated in the latest COVID-19 relief bill.

The 1.9 trillion dollar bill will allocate aid based on state unemployment, and not total population.

This means Missouri and 32 other states will likely lose funding.

The statement argues that a state’s ability to keep businesses open and people employed should not be a penalizing factor in aid distribution. It has been signed by governors of both the Democrat and Republican parties.
