National Day Of Prayer

Today is the National Day of Prayer.

Springfield-area leaders are holding this year’s prayer breakfast online because of the pandemic.

The National Day of Prayer first took place in 1952.

It’s only 15 minutes until the Springfield Prayer Breakfast begins. Have you logged in to https://youtu.be/WQwMn1FD0KY yet? If not, take an extra sip of your coffee and join us!

Press Release

Out of an abundance of caution, this year’s SPB is a virtual event.

As the object of the prayer breakfast is to honor and pray over our city, county, state and federal employees, and as these are the same individuals working tirelessly on behalf of
the public to navigate the fluid uncertainties of the pandemic, and as many of
these honorees deem the environment “high risk”, the SPB committee came to the
difficult decision to pivot to an online-only event.

The prayer meditation leaders for this year’s Springfield Prayer Breakfast are Ethan
and Sara Forhetz.

Ethan and Sara have been working side by side since 2005 as
television anchors on KY3.

They have used their many talents to showcase the great highlights of our community, as well as the work still to be done.

Both are Emmy award winning journalists who recently stunned Springfield by leaving their highly successful television careers to pursue full time ministry.

Joining the team at Convoy of Hope in February 2021, they continue to work on behalf of the poor and powerless in our community and around the world.
