The Ozarks will be dealing with extreme heat this weekend.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Doug Cramer says the heat index will be close to 100 degrees.

Friday is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far.

Cramer says rain is still expected this weekend.

The National Weather Service reminds people in the heat to take breaks and drink plenty of fluids.
