Ozark PD Earns Award For Community Program

The Ozark Police Department has earned an award for a local program they host.

Each year, the department hosts two programs aimed to help children in the  community.

The “Hero in Training” program is an event that helps children 6 to 11-years-old understand bike safety.

During the event, officers show the proper way to put on a helmet, safety tips for riding, and more.

The Missouri Municipal League honored the “Hero in Training” program with an innovation award.

The Missouri Municipal League aims “to develop an agency for the cooperation of Missouri cities, towns and villages and to promote the interest, welfare and closer relations among them in order to improve municipal government and administration in the state.”

The Ozark Police Department will accept the award on September 28th in St. Louis.
