A Verona couple was charged Tuesday in Barry County Circuit Court for child abuse that led to the death of a three-year-old.
Sarah Garbee, the child’s mother, pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment.
Garbee will serve seven years of prison and 120 days of shock incarceration.
27-year-old Caleb Williams, Garbee’s boyfriend, took an Alford plea and was sentenced to eight years in prison on two counts of child endangerment.
Autopsy reports show that the child died from blunt force trauma.
