Coal dust ignited outside a boiler this week at the John Twitty Energy Center in Southwest Springfield, causing an explosion at the power plant that left one person hurt.
City Utilities says an employee was hit by falling debris.
KY3 says he was treated for minor injuries.
CU says the explosion did not affect the power supply.
A spokesman says a similar incident happened at the plant in December 2016.
