The Springfield School Board wants to hire its own police force.
The board voted in favor of a plan to commission its own officers, making it the fourth district in the state to do so.
KY3 says the current school officers are commissioned by the Greene County Sheriff’s office.
The district says having its own police officers would let it better serve staff and students.
