(KTTS News) – Nicholas Godejohn is back in a Greene County Courtroom.

Godejohn was convicted in 2015 for first-degree murder for stabbing Dee Dee Blanchard. He is currently serving life in prison, and 25 years for armed criminal action.

The two sentences run concurrently, and Godejohn was given no chance at parole.

KY3 reports that attorneys for Godejohn are asking Greene County Judge David Jones to set aside his 2018 murder conviction based on poor representation.

Hearings started on August 9th and are scheduled to last for the next two days.

Dee Dee’s daughter, 25-year-old Gypsy Blanchard, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in July of 2016 for her mother’s death.

Gypsy was sentenced to 10 year’s in prison.
