(KTTS News) — Springfield’s northside has a new restaurant.

Beef-A-Roo, a fast-casual restaurant based in Rockford, Illinois, opened Friday near Kansas and Kearney, near Taco Bell.

The restaurant will bring 30 to 40 full and part-time jobs to the area.

This is the first owned and operated Beef-A-Roo to open outside of its hometown of Rockford, Illinois.

The restaurant offers classic roast beef sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads, along with their infamous, seasoned cheese fries that are smothered in what fans call “liquid gold.”

The company is in the process of adding new restaurants across the Midwest and Southeast.

Press Release

Beef-A-Roo, the famously delicious, all-American fast-casual restaurant, announced the opening date of its first restaurant in Springfield, Missouri, at 1411 W. Kearney St.

The restaurant, which are expected to bring 30-40 full- and part-time jobs to the area, will open on January 27, 2023.

Each restaurant is wholly owned and operated by Beef-A-Roo, but managed by a local resident who will oversee day-to-day operations.

This is the first owned and operated Beef-A-Roo to open outside of its hometown of Rockford, Illinois.

Founded in 1967, Beef-A-Roo focuses on all-American cuisine, including classic roast beef sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads, along with their infamous, seasoned cheese fries that are smothered in what fans call “liquid gold.”

Each menu item is created and prepared with the highest level of care, rooted entirely in Beef-A-Roo’s community-based culture and mission to be innovative and consistent.

“As we open this first of many Beef-A-Roo locations it is important to reflect on who we are and what we mean to the communities we serve,” said Matt Riddle, chief operating officer at Beef-A-Roo. “If you want to expand, you want consumers who will sing your praises to their neighbors and friends, that means delivering fresh food at top quality with every order. That is something this team can promise to Springfield and every new area that we open.”

Beef-A-Roo is known for its menu of fresh, locally crafted foods at affordable prices, and offers a variety of options for guests of all ages.

The restaurant uses only premium ingredients and makes many of its menu items from scratch in the restaurant each day, including carved roast beef, fresh-tossed salads, flavor-mixed milkshakes and freshly smashed burgers made from Grade-A Choice beef.

“As something of a burger aficionado, I’m passionate about this style food, and they immediately sold me on the 100% fresh, ground beef, but whole menu checks a million boxes for the Springfield community,” said Jake Holmes, general manager of Beef-A-Roo’s Springfield location. “This is a family-built restaurant, and this is a restaurant for the whole family. It’s  Midwest comfort food, and we are in a great market for it.”

Their “famously delicious” fast-casual restaurants vary in style and structure, breaking the traditions of typical food chains while preserving their guests’ dine-in experience.

The new Springfield location repurposes a former restaurant, which affirms Beef-A-Roo’s sustainability efforts to rebuild and renew properties as it expands.

Springfield is the first of many steps in the restaurant’s growth and expansion process.
