(KTTS News) — Search crews have recovered the body of a woman who drowned after she was swept away by floodwaters Thursday night.
Annette Mesicek, 49, from Mt. Vernon was in a vehicle along with two other people when the driver tried to cross a low water bridge near the Finley River Crossing on Highway Z south of Fordland.
It was dark, and the driver didn’t see the flash flooding.
All three people managed to get on top of the vehicle.
Two people managed to get to shore, but Mesicek was swept away by the floodwaters.
Her body was recovered Saturday night about four miles downstream.
