(KTTS News) — A bear cub was hit and killed Thursday night on James River Freeway.
Springfield Police closed the eastbound off-ramp near Glenstone and James River while the Missouri Department of Conservation removed the cub.
Police received several calls of bear sightings Thursday.
It’s rare to see bears in Springfield.
