(KTTS News) — Springfield Mayor Ken McClure delivered his seventh annual State of the City address on Thursday, talking about moving forward with goals to improve public safety and reduce poverty in the community.

The mayor wants to improve and increase the quality of the city’s housing.

He says the poverty level has decreased over the past seven years.
He wants to increase home ownership in Springfield and encourage new investment in historic neighborhoods.
The mayor is urging the public to get involved in community issues.
