The Lawrence County Victim Right’s Awareness, Crime Prevention and Safety Fair will be held Saturday, April 13th in observance of Victim Right’s week. Numerous businesses and organizations will be in attendance with a goal to create public awareness as to the resources that are available to victims of crime and their families, as well as resources for crime prevention and for keeping individuals, families, property and our community safe.
A silent auction will be held throughout the day and a dessert auction will be held at noon. Concessions will open at noon.
McGruff as well as local law enforcement and emergency personnel will be a part of the children’s activity area where the kids can make crafts, play games and as well as face painting.
Presentations and demonstrations will be going on throughout the day which will include (but not limited to): self defense demonstrations, Opiates and the issues their presence in our communities creates, shaken baby syndrome and signs of child abuse, and Victim Lisa Saylor will presenting.
All are welcome to join us. Our hope is that every person leaves more educated and aware of the resources available to victims of crime, as well as how to protect themselves, their families and their property from harm.
